Graphic Design by Angela Valente Marinelli
My ultimate goal as a graphic artist is to aesthetically enhance the world around me while maintaining effective visual communication. Through the application of art and design, I utilize creative talent and knowledge of the process to produce work that will benefit and please others. During my professional career as a graphic designer, I have had the opportunity to design a wide variety of print and web-based marketing materials, developing ideas from conception to completion. In doing so, I have upheld my belief in never putting out any less than my full effort when completing a task, whether in work, or in life.
I have dedicated my life to searching for ways of living life just a little simpler. I take life as it comes, and utilize what I learn to set and conquer individual goals. As a result, I have developed a certain degree of resourcefulness, and find myself adept in dealing with whatever may come my way. I try to remain flexible as to meet the needs and wants of others, while attempting to remain true to myself, which has caused me to become quite versatile as a graphic designer. Often, my simple demeanor is reflected in my designs; one would never suspect that my creative process is as involved and comprehensive as it is.
Photography has also become a great passion of mine. I think it is absolutely amazing that through a simple process, one can freeze a moment in time and keep it forever. Like a shutter is exposed to capture light, photography encapsulates emotion; who doesn’t pick up a photograph without wanting to laugh, or cry, or just think back in time. As a photographer, I feel privileged to be presented with the honor of capturing the cherished moments of others. Photography also allows me to express myself on a deeper level. Others are able to see the world through my eyes in a photograph, as I see the world through the lens of a camera.
Sometimes wise words come from the most unexpected faces. As spoken in the lyrics performed by the band Blink 182, “This world’s an ugly place, but you’re so beautiful to me.” These are words I live by. Like most artists, I, too, am influenced by the great masters of art and design. But more often than not, I look to my peers for inspiration. It is those who I see and meet every day that motivate me to do the best I can at whatever I attempt.
Positive energy yields positive results. I find great pleasure in being faced with creative challenges, and exceeding people’s expectations is something I have come to expect from myself. I hope to one day pass along these values to succeeding generations. As for now, I do what I can to harness my own potential to do great things.
Talent does what it can. Genius does what it must. I do what I do...
